These two teachers should be very proud of their students: they’re great at researching, using the clues around them, coming up with a thesis, and presenting a well-thought out argument.
…that argument just happened to be: that their science and math teacher were dating.
So on Valentine’s Day, science teacher, Jason Seifert, confirmed to his 5th grade students that he was, in fact, dating Ally Barker, their math teacher.
But that isn’t all he had to share. He also let them know that he was in love with her, and wanted to ask if she would become Mrs. Seifert.
Needless to say, the class exploded with excitement over the proposal!
“I pretty much figured that we met because of that school, we became friends because of that school, we fell in love because of that school, so it made sense,” Jason told ABC News. “The teachers on our team, you become so close. We became a family there. I didn’t want those teachers to know [about the proposal] either. I spoke to my principal to make sure she thought it was appropriate to do and she was all for it.”
Congrats to the happy couple!
