Chicago boy Bill Murray announced that he’s opening a restaurant in Chicago… well, Rosemont to be exact.
The golf-themed sports bar will be run by Bill Murray and his brothers.
Murray was originally interested in a location at Rosemont’s MB Financial Park Entertainment District but settled for the Crowne Plaza hotel at River Road and Balmoral Avenue, right by the Rosemont Theatre box office. (5440 N. River Rd.)
This would be the brothers’ second restaurant – the first Murray Bros. Caddyshack opened in Florida in 2001 and was named after Murray’s 80s golf comedy Caddyshack.
So far, we know that the 8,600-square-feet spot should be open by December.
It will seat 265 and have plenty of TVs to show games.
In addition to the restaurant and retail space, customers can also expect a “Golf Simulation Experience.”
“Golf is evolving from its exclusionary practices in favor of a more open and fun-loving attitude, which can be seen in everything from today’s hip golf fashion to more eclectic golf fans and unique venues at golf tournaments,” said Andy Murray in a press release. “I’m glad the rest of the world is catching up.”
