A memorial service was held in Latrobe, Pennsylvania this week for the King of golf, Arnold Palmer.

While many famous golf names were in attendance, so was one famous country star: Vince Gill.

Vince performed at the memorial for his “old friend.”

“I just want to thank the family for the gift, the invitation, to come here and honor an old friend. That means more to me than you’ll ever know. This man was my favorite person. Not my favorite golfer. My favorite person that I’ve ever met,” Vince said before performing his single, ‘Go Rest High On That Mountain.’

During the song tribute, Vince changed the lyrics from “I wish I could see the angels faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing,” to, “I wish I could see the angels faces
When they see your Sweet, sweet swing.”

Vince also sang Carole King song “You’ve Got A Friend,” which you can watch HERE.
