Gene Wilder Movies in Chicago This Weekend

Gene Wilder, one of the most impactful movie comedians of our time, sadly passed away on Monday due to complications from Alzheimer’s. But you can see 2 of his most popular movies in 2 Chicago theatres today & tomorrow!

Born in Milwaukee and also an Army medic who went to the University of Iowa, Wilder started as an Off-Broadway stage actor in 1962. He filmed the timeless classic Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory in Germany in 1970. Yes, the same movie that Johnny Depp (questionably) remade in 2005.

One of my favorite comedies of all-time, Blazing Saddles was released in 1974. With a budget less than Willy Wonka, the Mel Brooks‘ satire starring Cleavon Little & Wilder has grossed more than $119 million to date!

And you can see both of these movies at 2 Chicago AMC theatres throught tomorrow evening! You can take the kids to Willy Wonka at 5PM & the adults to Blazing Saddles at 7:30PM at both AMC’s in River North & near the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg. For more locations around the US, look HERE.

AND enter to win tickets to see another comedy HERE.
