Remember all those ice bucket challenges 2 summers ago with our country friends? AND how they worked to find a big discovery this year in the fight against ALS?

Well over the weekend, I did the same thing for a different event that happened about a week ago…

While the cleanup of the worst US natural disaster since Hurricane Sandy still continues (some say it will take a full year), me and my fellow Southeastern Conference college alumni over the weekend turned our annual Chicago flag-football tournament into a fundraiser for the victims of the Louisiana floods. Since I lived in New Orleans during middle school, it was important for me to be a part of the action.

The all day event at Diversey Field & Duffy’s Tavern was a success and helped raise hundreds of dollars. Tim McGraw and others who are from from the “Sportsman’s Paradise” urge more help is needed, so if you can- text REDCROSS to 90-999 or visit their website HERE.

And check out my “ice bucket moment” below…yeah, yeah, yeah I’m no Luke Bryan

But what if I was more like Chris Evans? He just participated in “what’s next”…the #22PushUpChallenge…
