Rory Feek Blogs About Joey’s Emotional Moment, “I Want To Raise Our Baby”

Joey Feek has tried to stay positive during her battle with stage four cervical cancer, but sometimes it’s just not possible.

Rory, who has been documenting everything in the blog This Life I Live recently wrote about a moment he had with his wife about their baby girl, Indiana.

In the post, Rory writes that the snow has fallen in Indiana for the first time and it felt like, “God was sending light into the darkness she was feeling.”

He says he showed Joey a picture that their neighbor sent him of his daughter Scout on a horse with the caption, “Scout can’t wait until Indiana joins her at camp.”

That’s when Joey began shaking and crying.

Rory didn’t know what was wrong, but then it hit him like a ton of bricks.

“And then through her tears, she said the words . . . the ones I knew she felt, but she had never said before . . . the words that are the hardest, most difficult part of all that she, and we, are going through. I want to raise our baby,’ she cried, and her tears fell harder. ‘I want to be the one to teach her,” he wrote.

The heart breaking moment didn’t last long because soon, Joey realized the snow was falling harder outside and “a small smile came across her face. Then a bigger one . . . And she looked at me, then raised her eyes up at [the] sky and said, ‘If this is the last snow I ever see, thank you Jesus.'”

For Thanksgiving, RFD-TV and SiriusXM’s Rural Radio channel will air a marathon of The Joey + Rory Show in honor of Joey.

At 6:30 CT, the station will also air a broadcast of personal messages and wishes for her from fans and stars like Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire and Marty Stuarts.
