Weekend Journal: The Perfect Way To Honor A Veteran

FIRST GUEST: Mark Doyle, Founder of Rags of Honor, a custom silk-screen apparel company dedicated to hiring homeless and unemployed veterans

After spending time in Afghanistan, Mark Doyle saw just how hard the men and women who fight for our freedoms work.

Yet, upon returning to the U.S., it became clear that many vets don’t have the same opportunities they did before their deployment. Homelessness and unemployment are two of the biggest problems our veterans face. That’s what led to the idea of a company by veterans for veterans.

Rags of Honor is a custom silk screen company based in Chicago dedicated to hiring homeless and unemployed veterans. Each man and woman Mark brings on board learns the in’s and out’s of screen printing and what it takes to run a business.

So why not purchase a shirt made in America printed by a veteran? What a perfect way to celebrate Veterans Day!

Rags of Honor is changing the lives of veterans one T-shirt at a time, by giving them a living wage and the skills they need to get back into society! Mark’s been hard at work expanding the company and has brought more vets on board since the last time we talked with him– they’ve even moved to a larger facility with some new printing machinery.

So whether you buy a shirt or hat, or chip in on their GoFundMe page, you’re supporting a veteran!
