On Tuesday, Chris Young announced his new album is set to come out in November.
The singer has already released the song ‘I’m Comin’ Over,’ which serves as the title track for his new record.
“’I’m Comin’ Over’ is honestly such a sonic bridge for me, between what I sounded like on the last record and what we’ve done on this one,” stated in a press release. “I think that this song is a really good introduction to what you’ll hear on the rest of this record.”
Young admits that the music might not be what’s expected from him. “We just tried to do what felt right on this, and I don’t think it was doing stuff different just for the sake of being different,” Young previously told Radio.com about the record. “It’s just naturally where this album grew into and where we wanted to go with it.”
His track ‘Sober Saturday Night’ includes Vance Gill harmonizing and playing the guitar. According to USA Today, the duo recorded the tune at Gill’s house, where the country music legend told Young he could take the solo parts of the song back over, but Young wasn’t going to budge.
“I looked to my right, and there’s a wall full of Grammys,” Young says. “I went, ‘Nope, you can go ahead and play it.”
The album also features a duet with Cassadee Pope.
Young performs Wednesday night on Jimmy Kimmel. He begins touring on September 30, in Nashville.
