Last night (Oct. 22), right before Montgomery Gentry hit Coyote Joe’s, Troy Gentry shared some breaking news about his family through the internet.
The country singer announced via Facebook that his wife, Angie, has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The couple found out right before the band launched their, “Check Your Headlights” campaign for breast cancer awareness. All proceeds from their new song, ‘Headlights,’ goes towards Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
“As you know, we launched this “Check Your Headlights” campaign for breast cancer awareness in early October. What you didn’t know is that right before we launched, my beautiful Angie got a diagnosis from her doctor that has rocked our world a bit over the last few weeks,” stated Troy in his social media post.
“She has breast cancer – and we wanted you to hear it from us first. She is currently going through chemo treatments and her prognosis is very good. We’d love for you to keep her in your prayers over the next few months. Many Thanks, – T”
Cancer is no stranger to Montgomery Gentry. Eddie Montgomery beat prostate cancer back in 2010.
Our heart goes out to Troy, his wife, and their friends and family.
