Here’s Kiki chillin’ with Blackhawks #29 Bryan Bickell. She’s a very special 4-year-old girl who is paralyzed from the waist down. Thanks to her rescuers she has a wheelcart and gets around just fine! She’s great with dogs and cats and loves to play. Her foster mom has done a great job of giving her lots of love and care but Kiki would love a home to call her own – especially one with a nice grassy yard to romp in.
This 2-year-old truly is precious. In her former life, she was used for breeding and probably fighting as she has some scars. She was then taken to a shelter in Indiana where she had little human contact. When It’s a Pittie rescued her she was very skinny, scared, and heartworm positive. Now, she is healthy, happy, and looking for her forever home!
Here’s Rookie cuddling with Blackhawks #10 Patrick Sharp! She’s a loving 2-year-old brindle-and-white girl with a silky coat and lean muscular body. She was brought to Chicago Animal Care & Control in July 2013 with her five young puppies. Now she’s ready for a home- and apparently a hockey lesson! She’s an amazing dog and deserves a forever family!
2-year-old Brita and her brother were brought to animal control in a litter of 10 puppies without their mom. Brita is the only one left to be adopted. She’s curious and smart, loves to learn commands and tricks, enjoys puzzle toys, and is undefeated at fetch! At the end of the day, she likes to cuddle up and watch TV. Brita is crate-trained and walks well on a leash, too!
2-year-old Emma was a stray spotted by the Bickell Foundation at animal control. She was scared of people then, but showed she wanted to trust. They met her and immediately fell in love. With the help of Almost Home Foundation and her trainer Tony, she is doing so much better! She loves walks, is potty- and crate-trained, and is fashion-forward. Now it’s time for her to find her forever home with someone who is patient and loving.
This 2-year-old was saved from a bad situation by a good samaritan who reached out to the Bickell Foundation for help. Once they got him to safety, The Dog District has been training and caring for him ever since. Oliver is sweet and intelligent, and loves all people and children, and is working hard on his dog social skills.
Here’s Red hanging out with Amanda Bickell. This senior pittie was taken in by Animal Care League after his owner passed away. Red then found himself as a shelter dog. The staff at Animal Care League instantly fell in love with this affectionate elder-bull. Red is about 12-years-old and blind but that doesn’t stop him – he plays with dogs and gets around well!
This stunning 1-year-old was found as a stray and taken to Animal Care League in Oak Park. He’s a fun-loving and playful young dog who needs a patient owner to put in some training work to turn him in to the perfect dog. Smokey has it in him to be an amazing companion but he just needs someone to love and care for him at his forever home.
