Miranda Lambert says the hatchet is buried with Ashton Kutcher.

In an interview with Steve Austin at Tampa station WQYK, Lambert says that the actor made a point to seek her out during a Kentucky Derby party last weekend and apologize.

As was widely reported, Kutcher raised a few eyebrows with his outfit choice and attempt at singing country music at the ACM Awards in Las Vegas last month. And Lambert called him out on it via Twitter.

Lambert, though, says Ashton was “sincere” in his apology.

“He came over to [my] table and he said, ‘I just want you to know that I love country music. I grew up on a farm in Iowa. I would never make fun of country. I was just trying to be funny. I wanted you to know that.'”

Lambert says the two hung out the next day and describes Kutcher as “really sweet.”

She also says she “loves” the Kentucky Derby. “It’s my favorite trip. I’m planning on doing it every year from now on.”

Miranda says she enjoys being “country royalty” with her husband Blake Shelton.

“It’s a great place to be, and it’s cool to get to celebrate it with somebody you love. And then also just go home and be normal. It’s awesome.”

Miranda also addresses the topic of reality show contests such as American Idol and The Voice, where her husband Blake Shelton is one of the judges (the show wraps up its second season tonight). These contests have been hot topic lately after singer Eric Church made disparaging comments about them in a recent Rolling Stone interview.

“I paid my dues long before I was on Nashville Star and have been working my butt off ever since then,” Miranda says. “And I know Kelly Clarkson really well and she does the same.”

Clarkson came to national attention after winning American Idol in 2002; Lambert finished third on the 2003 season of Nashville Star.

“I just feel [reality shows are] a great opportunity. And some of the comments people have made over the years about reality shows are just because they’re jealous, and they didn’t get the opportunity to be on one.”

“I love them, and I’m thankful” for them.
