Today is October 1st, and that means Country Music Month has officially begun! The County Music Association first declared October to be Country Music Month way back in 1964, and than, starting in 1970, Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, and Clinton (hey, country music takes all types) each made a presidential proclamation that October would officially be Country Music Month.
Sure, around here, every month is country music month, but this month, we’ve got all kinds of special stuff planned for you, in addition to all the country music news, songs, videos, and interviews we normally bring you.
Each day, we’ll be publishing special content including top 5 lists of our favorite types of country songs, our dj’s picks for the best country song they ever heard, a countdown of all the CMA Entertainers of the Year, and lots special surprises we can’t even tell you about yet! Plus, we’re even going to get you involved with Twitter, and have you tell us what country music is– check back for details on that Monday.
We’ll have several special posts everyday, so be sure to come back here throughout the day, every day and keep up with the latest on Country Music Month!
